Rug Hooking is an early American and European folk art in which strips of wool are pulled through a burlap backing. The colorful loops shape designs and become a rug for doorway or display. Originally, leftover scraps or worn household items were recycled into hooked rugs, making this an ecologically friendly craft. Shown here a completed rug depicting the natural forest scene in the background. Shallow DOF; RAW original. Very little has changed in this fine art in the past 200 years.
