Description

This picture shows the surgical exposure of a human brain (right cerebral hemisphere). This is one of the most frequently used surgical access in neurosurgery. The veins are in dark grey, and the arteries are in red. The large vein that runs from south to north in the center of the picture is the superificial sylvian vein, and it separates the frontal lobe (left side) from the temporal lobe (right side).
