'Prague, Czech Republic - July 31, 2010: John Lennon Wall, Prague. Prague's equivalent of the Berlin Wall, the John Lennon wall became a symbol of peace and free speech during the communist regime in the 1980's. Young activists risked prison for 'subversive activities against the state' and helped inspire the non-violent Velvet Revolution that led to the fall of Communism in the former Czechoslovakia in 1989. The wall continuously undergoes change and the original portrait of Lennon is long lost under layers of new paint and stands as a testament to the spirit of peace and free speech.'
