A bicycle is attached to a parking sign on the pavement. Kentucky Fried Chicken was founded by 'Colonel' Harland Sanders in 1939. He had opened a motel and cafe in Corbin, Kentucky, USA, in the early 1930s, serving southern fried chicken which he gradually developed into his famous blend of 11 herbs and spices. The company grew by franchising in the USA and in 1965 opened its first outlet in Preston, England. Colonel Sanders died in 1980.
