Description
Dark-field microscopic image of a tick on white background. The original size of the tick is approx 3mm. Ticks are known to transmit diseases such as Lyme Disease, Tick-borne Encephalitis and Borreliosis. They bite through the skin and feed on the blood of the host. Diseases can be transmitted this way. Ticks possess 8 legs and are therefore not insects. They are related to the spiders.
