Description
Mosaic 360 degree lumbar spine (lower back) magnetic resonance image from 15 different vantage points circling the spine. Image shows large extruded disc herniation at L4-L5 causing significant stenosis of the right lateral recess of the spinal canal and compression of the descending right L5 nerve root.

The image shows degenerative disc changes at the levels L2 to S1 with signs of disc desiccation.
At L2-L3, L3-L4, and LS-S1 there is circumferential disc bulging without evidence of central spinal canal or neural formal stenosis.
The distal spinal cord in normal and the conus medullaris is seen at the level of L1. The nerve roots of the cuada equina are unremarkable.
