Graz, Austria - December 16, 2010: Murinsel at night. The modern building has been designed by New York artist Vito Acconci when Graz became the Cultural Capital of Europe for 2003. It houses a cafe and an amphitheater.
Description
The great Austrian city of Graz, the capital of Styria, is a hub of art and history, added to the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage Sites in 1999, with extension in 2010. In the last years the architecture of the city has been integrated with modern and bizarre buildings, such as the Murinsel (German for "Mur island"). With the form of a giant sea shell, this building is located in the middle of the Mur river, connected by two footbridges with both banks. Canon EOS 5D Mark II
