'New York, NY, USA - September 25, 2012: A NYC contractor uses a gas torch to warm the bike lane blacktop so that he can glue new white cycle symbols on the road surface. Sixth Avenue in mdtown Manhattan at 34th Street is a busy northbound traffic artery. Special lanes have been marked on this and many of the other NYC streets so that cyclists can get around town safely. In the background yellow cabs and trucks can be seen stopped at traffic lights during the morning rush hour.'
