Ocotal, Costa Rica - December 19, 2012: Looking north into the bay in Ocotal a small, quiet beach community very close to the bustling party town of Playas del Coco in the province of Guanacaste. Well regarded for its clear protected waters and uncrowded beach it has become a popular Latin American destination for European and North American retirees and tourists. The bay is ringed by holiday villas catering to year round residents and seasonal visitors, who augment the local Costa Rican population and the many weekend visitors from San Jose, Costa Rica's capital and major city. Sport fishing and diving charter boats dot the protected harbour that affords easy access to the Golfo Papagayo.
