Oklahoma City National Memorial - The memorial honors victims, survivors, rescuers and others affected by the bombing at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building on April 19, 1995. A total of 168 chairs in hand-crafted bronze and glass - one for each victim and etched with the victim's name in the glass base - stand on the site exactly where the victims worked or were located inside the Murrah building at the time of the bombing. The design concept for this part of the memorial is to have the chairs represent the empty chairs at the dinner tables of the victims' families. They are arranged in nine rows to symbolize the nine floors of the building. The chairs are also grouped according to the blast pattern - concentrated near the most heavily damaged portion of the building. There are 19 small chairs to honor the children who were killed in the bombing. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 2012.
