Description

The city of Seville, Andalucia, Spain with a view demonstrating a city of change. An historic city steeped in culture, and with a large Roman Catholic community and host to many religious festivals. There is the Old World demonstrated by the historic churches of El Salvador, the largest church in Seville after the Cathedral, and built in 1674 with its magnificently embellished ceramic tiled dome, and behind the Church of the Annunciation, built in 1565. Then there’s the Modern World illustrated by the Alamillo Bridge stretching out into the sky in the background. This iconic landmark bridge was built for the Expo 92 exhibition held in the city. This cantilever bridge consists of a single pylon counterbalancing a 200 metre span with thirteen wire cables. Architect of the bridge was the renown Santiago Calatreva, whom is responsible for similar style bridges across the world. The cityscape shows many cranes working on new constructions in a city that is rapidly changing and improving it’s infrastructure.
