Description
The lower level of the Patio was built for King Peter I in 1364 as a royal residence. The name "Courtyard of the Maidens" (Patio de las Doncellas) refers to the legend that the Moors demanded hundred virgins every year as tribute from Christian kingdoms in Iberia.
