Description
Visitors and locals enjoy walking in the Plaza de San Francisco in Quito Ecuador. The Spanish church Iglesia de San Francisco on the right, was the first church built in Quito. Construction began in 1535, just one month after the Spanish arrived and took more than 100 years to finish. The plaza is thought to be built over an Incan temple. Hotels and other historic buildings stand nearby.
