Description
Petroglyph Native American Indian artwork on Schnebly Hill Formation Sandstone rock face. The storytelling glyphs appear in the Red Tank Draw, which was an important travel route for the ancient Sinagua peoples traveling from above the Mogollon Rim. These early Native Americans inhabited the northern Arizona region between 500AD and 1400AD. In addition to the glyphs, numerous Sinaguan ruins remain in the region, including cliff dwellings and puebloan ruins with associated cultural artifacts. The primary glyph on this rock depicts an elk or mule deer. Yavapai County, Arizona, 2013.
