'Sedona, Arizona, USA - November 27, 2011:Close-up of a vintage sign advertising hot french-fried popcorn (hot oil-popped). Advanced Manufacturing and its popcorn machines evolved from earlier versions of popcorn machine companies. The first true machine was produced in 1885. Street vendors took the huge machines wherever people congregated. In 1922 Burch Manufacturing Company began selling machines, but couldn't compete and finally changed its name to Advance Manufacturing Company. This is the company behind the sign on the machine pictured here. Although still in business, hot-oil popping machines are a thing of the past. Sedona, Arizona, 2011.'
