London, England - June 1, 2011: A menu blackboard outside a London pub, which is advertising fish and chips. Fish and chips is thought of as the 'typically British' fast food but the first fish and chip shop was opened by a Jewish owner in 1860 who sold Jewish-style fried fish with deep-fried chips of potato. Chips are mentioned in Dickens' novel 'The Tale of Two Cities', published around the same time.
