"The Alai Darwaza gate of the Quwwat-ul-Islam (or aEMight of Islamaa) mosque, Qutb Minar complex, Delhi, India. Work on the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque began in 1193. It was built by Qutb-ud-din Aibak (or Aybak) from the remains of 27 Hindu and Jain temples. The mosque now forms part of Delhiaas Qutb Minar complex. Built of red sandstone and faced partially with marble, the Alai Darwaza gate is covered with intricate carvings and verses from the Koran."
