Description
This is a cross section of rainscreen clad siding at a commercial construction site. This construction method represents a very green, modern and energy efficient design and is being installed on a LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) Platinum building. The teal vapor barrier is attached to an ICF (insulated concrete form) wall, the aluminum channels support the siding with a gap between the cladding and wall. The brown panels keep out rain and form a double-wall construction forming an inner layer of thermal insulation.
