Seneca, Maryland, USA -- April 18, 2011: In this photo, taken on the Potomac River in Seneca Maryland, three Montgomery County Maryland River Rescue team members are heading back to shore after rescuing a kayaker clinging to a tree in the middle of the muddy swollen river. The rescued kayaker is second from the right in the rescue boat. BACKGROUND: Heavy rains from a storm that swept across the United States, spawning over 240 tornados, hit Maryland with torrential downpours. A day later the Potomac River in Montgomery County was over its banks and running extremely fast. A kayaker put their kayak into the water above Seneca and began kayaking down the river. The kayak flooded and the kayaker was swept along downriver with the current until they found a tree to cling onto.
