The stunning Russian Orthodox Cathedral, in Nice, Cote D’Azur, France. This little piece of Russia in France, also called the Eglise Russe or Cathédrale Saint Nicolas, is recognised as a national monument of France. It was inaugurated in 1912 due to the generosity of Tsar Nicholas II, and it is the largest Russian Orthodox cathedral outside Russia. The Cathedral was established to serve the large Russian community that had settled in Nice by the end of the 19th century, as well as devoted visitors from the Imperial Court. There remains a large Russian community in Nice today..
