Description

Eudocimus ruber. This is one of the national birds of Trinidad and Tobago. The Ibis families are an ancient group and the latin word has Greek origins meaning ''Religious Worship, sacred bird''. Fossils of these animals date back to 60 million years ago. They were also a part of Ancient Egyption religion and were often mummified and buried in temples with Pharohs.
