Description

Sheep graze beside a fallen rotting tree in the natural depression known as the Hole of Horcum which lies between the villages of Levisham and Goathland in the heart of the North York Moors, north Yorkshire, UK. The Hole of Horcum is the result of retreating ice during the last Ice Age. This photo was taken on a bright summer morning. Heather can just be seen in the background. This area is popular with visitors and ramblers.
