Description
Authentic Soviet Army Air Force Wings. The breastplate “Military pilot 1st class”. The sign was made of metal with a special coating and colored enamel. It is a wreath of oak and laurel leaves with two crossed swords on it. Wings and shield were put over the swords. Above the shield a red star is located. There’s number “1” on the shield, indicating a pilot proficiency level.

The breastplate was worn on the right side of the chest on the uniform jacket in the middle of the distance from the waist to the collar. The right to wear the sign had officers, who successfully had completed the theoretical and practical training for combat operations in the air day and night in any weather. In practice such sign received Soviet military pilots – aces.
