Description

'St Catherineaas Church in Honfleur, Normandy, France. This local landmark is unique in that the church is made entirely in wood, even including the wooden roof shingles, and that the bell tower spire stands apart from the main body of the building. As shown here, even the clock face is made of wood. The church was originally a temporary structure built in the 15th Century during the hundred years war, by local shipbuilders. Hence the wooden construction.'
