Nowadays, one of the most challenging analytical problem, destined to become even more
important in the next years, is the possibility to analyse soil polluted by the dispersion of organic fluids, sometime featuring particularly high boiling points. The techniques applied up to now for this purpose, solvent extraction and head space chromatographic analysis, have
shown their limits.
