Description

'Threecastles Castle Ruins, Co.WicklowIt is in fact the site of a single square castle ruin, built most likely in the early 14th century, reputed to be the survivor of three. It is a castle with a barrel vault at the top of the third storey. The masonry of both the interior and exterior is still almost perfect. Being on the very border of the Pale, this was the scene of almost constant fighting from the 13th to the late 16th century. In the Summer of 2012 I was for a Trip in the Northern Part of Ireland to photographing Nature & Landscapes.'
