A torn paper burst/punch design element viewed from straight on; can be used as a transparent shadow overlay. This is a little unusual in that it punches INWARD.

TTo use this file as a transparent overlay, first turn it from a background into a layer (double-click it in the layer palette or drag it into another doc, which will automatically make it a layer), then set its layer mode to "multiply", and you'll have nice, natural shadows.

This image is a photograph with paper texture and natural shadows. The surrounding area is white, and as with all of my paper effects, the soft shadows have been painstakingly hand-tuned so they have no banding.
