This is the diffusion tensor imaging color map of the brain. The tractography uses special technique of MRI and computer based image analysis to visually represent neural tract, and the results are represented in 2D and 3D images.
This technology has been used to evaluate the whiter matter connectivity of the brain.
The red indicates fibers oriented from right (R) to left (L) or left to right; green indicate fibers from anterior (A) to posterior (P) or posterior to anterior; and blue indicate fibers from head (H) to foot (F) or foot to head.
The tracts of the brain naturally intertwine and produce nice color images in tractography.
