Shown in both obverse and reverse views, this United States ten-cent coin, known popularly as the Mercury Dime, was officially called the Winged Liberty Head Dime. It was minted from 1916 to 1945, at which time the present Roosevelt Dime replaced it as the ten-cent piece. This particular coin was struck in 1943 at the U. S. Mint at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
