Holt, England - May 22, 2012: A few people near the war memorial in Holt, Norfolk. Holt is an ancient market town, mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086 and near the once-thriving ports of Cley and Blakeney. Much of the medieval town was destroyed in a fire in 1708 but it still retains a peaceful, old-fashioned quality thanks to the proliferation of attractive Georgian buildings constructed after the fire. It has a good variety of shops and a famous public school, Greshams, founded by Sir John Gresham in 1555.
