Sedona, Arizona, USA - September 21, 2013: The Whizzer vintage motorized bicycle - circa 1940 - produced in California by Breene-Taylor Engineering. It's expertise in manufacturing airplane parts transferred to this truly fine quality bicycle with an air-cooled four-cycle gas engine assist, retailing for $55.00. It produced 1.4 horsepower and carried a 2/3 gallon gas tank. 1000 units were produced and sold. Over the years the company upgraded the engines, and also evolved as a business in order to survive. Whizzers have been produced into the 2000's, but the company has currently been on sabbatical since 2009. It continues to provide parts and service. These old models are highly collectible. This model appeared in the back of an identically painted vintage pickup truck at the annual Sedona Airport (Arizona’s Airport in the Sky) Family Fun Day. The day's activities involved vintage land vehicles and airplanes on display and in flight - with rides available to the public.
