Description

This photo of a wild orchid was taken in the beautiful nature reserve The Friesian Veen (Friese Veen) . adjacent to the city of Groningen and consists of swamp forest, reed beds and open water. Polder Camphuis is not drained since 1994, so that nature can take its course here. It turned into a wild meadow marsh. In 2005 in the Frisian Veen first rare marsh and zomp locusts where seen. In the summer, you can rent a canoe or rowboat at the cafe Friesche Veen and explore the area from the water.
