Young man playing Swiss accordion at a village festival in Spring, Lenk im Simmental, Switzerland, indoors in a large tent, part of a trio of musicians. The event is a festival of jodler choirs and singers, all of them local and from the area. The festival is for Jodler Choral groups from neighbouring villages, who gather each year in a different town for a singing festival. In the spring of 2013, the event was hosted by the village of Lenk im Simmental. A large tent is set up in the village square, and laid out with many tables with bench seats for local and visiting guests. At the end of the tent, a stage is set up for the performing Jodler clubs. The event takes place in the Bernese Oberland, where virtually every town and community has its own Jodler Club, which is a core part of Swiss Culture and tradition. The jodlers dress in local costumes called "Trachten" in German, and each village and area has its own style of Tracht.
