The Park is located in the Northern part of Namibia, in the Kunene region and has a size of about 22.270 square kilometres. Etosha is famous for its wildlife. The Park encloses the Etosha pan, which is a large endorheic salt pan (about 120 kilometre long). Usually the pan is a dry (mud coated with salt) lakebed, During rainy season and after heavy rain the pan fills with a thin layer of water (heavily salted). After rain the dry landscape changes into a beautiful green scenery.
