"Raised relief, or bas relief, in the Sanctuary of Isis, part of the Temple of Seti I, Abydos, Egypt. The relief depicts the 13th century BC pharaoh Seti I (also Sethos I, Sethi I, Sety I and Menmaatre), on the left, holding two lotus plants (the blue water lily), symbol of the continuous cycle of death and rebirth. The figure on the right is Isis who wears the solar disk and horns rather than the throne-shaped headgear with which she is normally associated. Begun by Seti I but completed by his son, Ramesses II the temple of Seti I at Abydos is one of the finest buildings in Egypt."

The Pharaoh Seti I (circa 1294 BC - 1279 BC), son of Ramesses I and Queen Sitre, is shown seated on his throne worshipping the gods (left to right) Osiris, Isis and Horus. This facsimile was made by an unknown artist after the hieroglyph art at Abydos, Egypt. Published in a history of sculpture in 1883, it is now in the public domain.
