Common name is Queen of the Night. I backlit this one, to emphasize just how pure and white the flower is. The mass of yellow stamens is in focus, the lower petals, and back bracts. Such a majestic flower and highly fragrant.
Cereus repandus, the Peruvian apple cactus, is a large, erect, thorny columnar cactus found in South America. It is also known as giant club cactus, hedge cactus, cadushi, and kayush.

This is a perfect specimen of a tropical cactus blossom, specifically a epiphyllium oxypetalum. This particular species opens in the early evening and is full open in one to two hours and stays full out until morning when it dies as fast as it opens.

"Peniocereus greggii is a cactus species originating from Arizona (USA) and Sonora (Mexico). Common names include Arizona queen of the night, night blooming cereus and Reina de la noche. Its flowers are white, up to 30 centimetres in diameter with a scent redolent of vanilla. The flowers open after sundown, closing and wasting after a few hours. Night-blooming cereus is the common name referring to a large number of flowering Cereus cacti that bloom at night. The night-blooming cereus is also referred to as princess of the night, Honolulu queen (for Hylocereus undatus), and queen of the night."

Selenicereus undatus, the white-fleshed pitahaya, is a species of Cactaceae and is the most cultivated species in the genus. It is used both as an ornamental vine and as a fruit crop - the pitahaya or dragon fruit. The native origin of the species has never been resolved.
This orchid cactus (epiphyllum oxypetalum) image shows the blossom in full plume along side an emerging bud before opening. The blossom is shown against the host plant. This particular blossom started to open at 8:00 PM and was full open and 8" across by 9:30, but had wilted by sunrise. Time of year was late August in the Pacific Northwest.
