Royal poinciana (Delonix regia), also known as Gulmohar, is a species of flowering plant in the bean family Fabaceae and is native to Madagascar. It has fern-like leaves and is known for its flamboyant display of orange-red flowers. In many tropical regions it is grown as an ornamental tree and it’s common names are flamboyant, flame of the forest (name also given to other species of the same family), or flame tree. It is a non-nodulating legume.
