Historic Aztec Motel Sign on Central Avenue - Route 66 - in Albuquerque. The motel was torn down in June 2011. Its restored neon sign will remain indefinitely according to the current owners.

The motel was “yellow-tagged” by the city as unsafe for occupation. Aztec stands in the middle of the Nob Hill District, which is one of the hippest areas of the city and is becoming more gentrified every day.
