Ait Ben-Haddou is a so called Ksar (fortified village) in the southeast of Morocco. It lies at a small hill at the foot of the High Atlas mountain range. A caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech used to pass this village at the Ounila River.
The old town area consists of Kasbahs, fortified houses built from adobe.

Ait Ben-Haddou with its earthen architecture is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Several films like "Sodom And Gomorrah", "Gladiator" and "Prince of Persia" have been shot here.
