King Edward IV of England reigned from 1461 to 1470, and from 1471 to 1483. The first Yorkist King he came to the throne during the Wars of the Roses, he defeated the Lancastrians in a succession of battles and was procalmed king. He was again breifly overthrown himself in 1470, with Henry VI returned to the throne. He regained the throne a year later in 1471, and this time he made sure Henry VI was killed.
