Two twigs of lemon verbena (aloysia citrodora, formerly lippia citriodora)) with some leaves and very delicate flowers, shot against a plain light gray background with copy space. The essential oil is used in perfumery and the scented leaves are used in herbal teas, to flavor food and in pot-pourri.
This plant is called by so many names - aloysia citrodora seems to be the most common, but also found are vervain, lippia citriodora, aloysia citriodora, lippia triphylla, herb louisa, (herba luisa in Spain and cedron in South America, verveine citronelle or verveine odorante in France), lemon beebrush. I have used vervain as a keyword but that seems to be used mostly for verbena hastata (blue verbena).
