This vintage engraving depicts the Hawaiian beach and village of Ewa just west of Honolulu in the 1860s. Native Hawaiians engage in village life and mingle with westerners. Engraved by George Pearson (d. 1910), it was published in an 1866 history of Hawaii and is now in the public domain. Digital restoration by Steven Wynn Photography.
