Description
A border on a cream background, with harvest time farm implements (a scythe, a sickle and a barrel) and a wasp. From “The Horkey - A Ballad” by Robert Bloomfield and illustrated by George Cruikshank; published by MacMillan & Co, London, 1882. The “ballad” is set in Suffolk, England and the ‘Horkey’ is the harvest supper, or end-of-harvest celebratory meal.
