Description

Hugh of Cluny (1024 – 1109) and Matilda of Tuscany (1046 – 1115) as an advocate of Holy Roman Emperor Henry IV (1050 - 1106). Replica (lithograph) after a miniature from the parchment manuscript “Life of Matilda” (1114 completed) by the monk Donizo of Canossa in the Vatican Library in Rome, published in 1880.
