Description

This is a cartoon etching by the well-known Victorian social caricaturist / cartoonist George Cruikshank (1792 - 1878), dated 1832. It shows the misery of passengers on board a pleasure boat on choppy, storm-ridden waters, while the sailor looks on unconcerned. (1832 is in the reign of Victoria's predecessor, William IV.)
