Description
An illustration from "The Family Friend" published by S.W. Partridge & Co. (London, 1875). This ship is one of the British ships 'HMS Erebus' and 'HMS Terror' in the 1845 expedition led by Sir John Franklin to find the North West Passage in the Canadian Arctic. The expedition ended in failure and the loss of the entire party.
