Description
Leviathan of Parsonstown (now Birr, County Offaly, Ireland) is the unofficial name for the telescope with the William Parsons (3rd Earl of Rosse), the spiral form of galaxies discovered. The name comes from a sea monster of the Bible. Original woodcut from my archive, published in 1877.
