Description
A fat and greedy schoolboy - name of Master G Reed - devouring the contents of a box, which has arrived in a 'tuck' hamper from home, while envious fellow pupils stand and watch. Could easily be the model for 'Billy Bunter'! Amusingly, a map of the 'Sandwich Isles' (sic) is on the wall. Engraving from 'The Boy's Own Paper' of Saturday 3rd July, 1880. The newspaper, with its mixture of morality, improvement, adventure and humour, was first published by the Religious Tract Society in 1879.
