Odoacer (c. 433 - 493, West Roman officer of Germanic origin) enforces 476 Romulus Augustus' (c. 460 - after 476) resignation, and is himself King of Italy. Wood engraving after drawing by B. Moerlius (German painter, 19th Century), published in 1881.
