Otto I the Great (912-973) and his first wife Edgitha (also Editha, Eadgyth, 910 – 946). Otto I, from the dynasty of Liudolfinger, was from 936 Duke of Saxony and King of East Francia (Regnum Francorum orientalium), from 951 King of Italy, and from 962 Roman-German Emperor. Woodcut engraving after a drawing by Hermann Knackfuss (German painter, 1848 - 1915) after the statues (Middle of the 13th century) in Magdeburg Cathedral, published in 1880.
